Permissions
Two things decide what a person can do: the four Baselines permissions their groups hold, set in Baseline Configuration, and their own access in Confluence, because Baselines reads pages as the person using it.
Baselines permissions
A Confluence administrator gives each Confluence group its permissions in Baseline Configuration (Confluence settings, Apps): Allowed or Denied for each.

| Delete | Delete versions and releases, put them back, and delete them for good. |
A person with Freeze but not View can freeze pages as a new document, but does not see the documents already on the site. When no group has any permission yet, Baselines says it is not set up on this site.
Locked buttons
A button you are known not to be allowed is locked and says which permission it needs, for example Needs Compare. A Confluence administrator grants it in Baseline Configuration. Before an action Baselines asks again, so a permission granted a moment ago works at once. A screen you cannot use offers Copy a request for your admin, a short message to paste into a mail or chat.
Content access
Baselines reads page content as the person using it. Compare, Export PDF and Republish read each page from Confluence as you, so the text of a page you cannot open in Confluence is not compared, exported or republished for you, and Baselines says how many it left out. A schedule reads as the person it runs as.
Freezing, viewing, comparing and exporting never change your pages. The only thing Baselines writes to Confluence is Republish, which creates a new page (and, the first time, the Baseline For Confluence Cloud page it goes under) and never overwrites one. Deleting a version removes only Baselines’ own record of it.
What the app can do in Confluence
