These terms govern your use of Quartz, an SLA-tracking app for Jira Cloud published by Plugin Developers. Quartz is licensed to you, not sold. You get the app through the Atlassian Marketplace, so distribution, billing, refunds and trials follow Atlassian's terms — not ours. Quartz runs entirely inside your own Atlassian environment: it reads your issue data to compute SLAs and writes only its own SLA values back into Jira. There is no external server and no data egress. Use the app lawfully, and uninstall it any time to end this agreement. Plain-language summaries like this one are for convenience; the full sections below control.
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you — the organisation and individuals who install or use the Quartz app (collectively, "you") — and Plugin Developers ("Plugin Developers", "we", "us" or "our"), the publisher of Quartz.
"Quartz" or the "App" means the Quartz — SLA tracking for Jira Cloud application, an Atlassian Forge app distributed on the Atlassian Marketplace, together with its updates, documentation and any computed Jira custom fields it provides. "Atlassian" means Atlassian Pty Ltd and its affiliates. "Marketplace" means the Atlassian Marketplace.
By installing, accessing or using Quartz, you accept these Terms. If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation, and "you" includes it. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.
Quartz is published and licensed by Plugin Developers, not by Atlassian. Atlassian is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or for supporting it; Atlassian's role is limited to operating the Atlassian Marketplace and the Forge platform on which the App runs. Any dispute about the App is between you and Plugin Developers.
Subject to these Terms and to your compliance with them, Plugin Developers grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable licence to install and use Quartz within your authorised Atlassian Cloud sites, for your internal business purposes, for as long as your Marketplace entitlement is active.
Quartz is licensed, not sold. Plugin Developers reserves all rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms. The licence is non-transferable, and you may not assign or sub-license it except as part of a permitted transfer of your Atlassian site under Atlassian's terms.
Quartz is offered in a Standard edition and an Advanced edition. The features available to you depend on your Marketplace edition and licence. AI-assisted and predictive features (including Breach Forecasting, the Governance review and the AI features) are part of the Advanced edition only; Standard installations do not include them. In production, your Atlassian Marketplace licence is the sole authority for which edition and capabilities are unlocked — no setting within the App can grant a paid capability that your licence does not include.
Quartz is distributed exclusively through the Atlassian Marketplace. Your acquisition of, and payment for, the App is a transaction between you and Atlassian, governed by Atlassian's Marketplace Terms of Use and related Atlassian agreements.
Because billing runs through Atlassian, the relevant Atlassian terms apply to those matters in addition to these Terms. Where Atlassian's terms govern a billing, trial or refund question, they control over anything implied here.
Quartz is built on Atlassian Forge and runs inside your own Atlassian Cloud environment. It uses Atlassian-hosted runtime and Atlassian Forge storage. There is no Plugin Developers server or external database in the path: your Jira issue data is read to compute SLA status and is not sent outside Atlassian's cloud.
Because the App operates inside Atlassian's platform, its availability, performance and security depend in part on Atlassian's services, which are outside Plugin Developers' control. Your use of Jira and Atlassian Cloud remains governed by your own agreements with Atlassian.
You agree to use Quartz only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms, the Atlassian Marketplace terms, and the Forge platform's policies. You will ensure that everyone you permit to use the App does the same. You will not, and will not allow others to:
You are responsible for the SLA definitions, calendars, field mappings, permissions and other configuration you create, and for the accuracy of the targets and business rules you set. Quartz reports against the configuration you provide.
The App, including its software, design, user interface, documentation, the SLA computation, forecasting and governance logic, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Plugin Developers (or its licensors) and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. Plugin Developers reserves all rights, title and interest not expressly granted to you under these Terms.
"Quartz", the Quartz logo and Plugin Developers' other marks are the property of Plugin Developers. These Terms do not grant you any right to use those marks except as needed to use the App as intended. "Atlassian", "Jira", "Forge", "Rovo" and related marks belong to Atlassian and are used here for identification only.
Plugin Developers does not claim ownership of your Jira issue data or of the SLA configuration you create. As between you and Plugin Developers, those remain yours. You grant Plugin Developers only the limited rights necessary for the App to read your issue data and write its computed SLA values back into your Jira fields so that the App can function. Plugin Developers does not sell, rent or disclose your data to third parties; the App's no-egress design means your issue data does not leave Atlassian's cloud through Quartz.
If you send us suggestions or feedback about the App, you grant Plugin Developers a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use that feedback to improve our products, without obligation to you.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", with all faults and without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plugin Developers disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
Plugin Developers does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the App will meet your requirements. Quartz reports SLA status from your configuration and from the data and platform services available to it; the forecast and compliance-coverage features are informational. Compliance coverage indicates that an SLA timer has been instrumented against a control clause — it is not an audit, attestation or certification of compliance with any standard. You are responsible for your own service-level commitments and compliance obligations. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plugin Developers and its suppliers and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business, or for SLA breaches, penalties or service-credit liabilities, arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of Plugin Developers arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms will not exceed the amounts you paid for the App through the Atlassian Marketplace in the twelve (12) months immediately before the event giving rise to the liability, or, if you obtained the App at no charge, fifty US dollars (US$50).
These limitations apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Plugin Developers and its officers, employees, suppliers and licensors from and against any third-party claims, damages, liabilities, losses and reasonable costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use or misuse of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms, the Atlassian Marketplace terms or any applicable law; (c) the SLA definitions, calendars, field mappings, configuration or business rules you create, or any service-level commitment you make to a third party; or (d) your infringement or misappropriation of any third-party right. Plugin Developers will notify you of the claim, let you control its defence (any settlement that imposes an obligation on Plugin Developers needs our prior written consent), and reasonably cooperate at your expense. This section does not limit any mandatory consumer rights you may have.
You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling Quartz from your Atlassian site through the Marketplace or your Atlassian administration. These Terms also terminate automatically if your Marketplace entitlement for the App lapses or is cancelled, or if you materially breach these Terms and do not cure the breach within a reasonable time after notice.
On termination:
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law — survive.
Plugin Developers may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect new features, changes to the App or legal and regulatory requirements. When we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide notice through the App or the Marketplace listing. Changes take effect when posted. Your continued use of the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to a change, your remedy is to stop using and uninstall the App.
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the App, are governed by the laws of the European Union and the applicable local laws of the EU member state in which Plugin Developers is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The competent courts of that member state have non-exclusive jurisdiction over such disputes. This clause does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protections, or of any rights under applicable data-protection law (including the EU General Data Protection Regulation), available to you under the laws of your own place of residence. Your acquisition of the App through the Atlassian Marketplace remains governed by the terms Atlassian specifies for that transaction.
These Terms, together with the Atlassian Marketplace terms that apply to your acquisition of the App and the Quartz Privacy Policy and End User Licence Agreement, are the entire agreement between you and Plugin Developers regarding the App, and supersede any prior understandings on that subject. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Plugin Developers' failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent, except as part of a permitted transfer of your Atlassian site; Plugin Developers may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Headings and summaries are for convenience only.
